Greater Swan Valley Fire Protection District is proud to be a volunteer fire and EMS organization which provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to the two incorporated cities of Swan Valley and Irwin, Idaho, as well as Targhee National Forest, Caribou National Forest and associated recreational areas. Greater Swan Valley Fire Protection District has two fire stations strategically located within the Swan Valley area. The district has mutual aid agreements with the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, Idaho Department of Lands, and the Bureau of Reclamation which houses separate fire apparatus and crew. Our department has a volunteer workforce of more than 25 individuals and 11 part-time employees serving approximately 700 full-time residents with a seasonal population explosion up to 4,000 people. Our firefighters and EMS respond to a variety of incidents which range from back country rescue, vehicle accidents, water rescue and wild land fires to the valley residents as well as adjacent communities. |
As we grow, we continue to strive to remain proficient in our skills and focus on the qualities that have made our district a leader in emergency service delivery:
